On Saturday, March 19th Seven Rivers District will hold their annual Pinewood Derby starting at 11am. Once again this event will take place inside BassPro Shops at Patriot Place.

Seven Rivers District is a part of the Old Colony Council, Boy Scouts of America, serving the Southeastern Massachusetts towns of Bellingham, Canton, Foxborough, Franklin, Medfield, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, Norwood, Plainville, Sharon, Walpole, and Wrentham.

Individual Packs from the area held their local Pinewood Derby races over the past month. The top cars from each Pack have an opportunity to race in the district competition. The finalists on Saturday will qualify to participate in the World Championship Pinewood Derby being held in Time Square on June 25th. Finalists are Cub Scouts that finished either 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in their respective rank (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I, Webelos II)

Local TV coverage and live streaming of the District Pinewood is being produced by scouts. All the announcers and camera operators providing coverage of the more than 5 hours of races will be scouts.
