FCA Awards 2024 Scholarships

Foxboro Cable Access is pleased to announce recipients of this year’s Scholarship to two local graduates, Tommy Devlin and John Ahearn. Devlin has been active in the school community as Yearbook Editor,
sports videographer, NHS, FHS Theater and participated in various school sports programs. He’s been part of the FCA Cable 8 Sports crew thru high school and was a popular announcer for several games.

Tommy will be attending Quinnipiac College this fall majoring in Digital Media & Business. Throughout his high school career, Ahearn has been active in the music program, track and cross country, serving in many leadership roles, especially in the Programming Club of which he was co-founder. Johnny began experimenting with computer “bots” that brought text-based games, commands and streaming to popular
platforms and focused his attention on “functions and algorithms to make processes faster and more efficient.” He’ll be majoring in Computer Science this fall at Lehigh University.


FCA President & Chairman Paul Beck recently presented Devlin with a $1000 check at the FCA Studio Offices at 28 Central Street in downtown Foxboro. Ahearn also received a $1000. award from Executive Director Mike Webber. Webber added “ We wish them both good luck in their chosen fields, and invited them to come back and take advantage of the equipment and facilities that are available here at no charge to town residents.”

As a commitment to higher education, the FCA Board of Directors has offered a $1000. Scholarship every year since 1985 to any town resident who is pursuing a degree program in the Field of Communications. Applications are distributed in the spring.
