Foxboro Cable Access is hosting an Open House on April 29th at 6:30pm and invites anyone who lives or works in the town to attend. This is one of the best ways to become involved with FCA and learn about the many services offered. The evening’s program includes a tour of the new facilities and ways to find out how easy it is to become a community producer or crewmember. If you have a show idea or concept, this would be a good time to pursue it. They will help you turn that idea into reality.
Two other Training Workshops will be offered this spring. FIRST LOOK – Final Cut 10.1 will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30 pm and KNOWING YOUR TOOLS – JVC 150U Camcorder/Basic Camera Workshop (Date TBA). Final Cut X video editing software is installed on all the editing lab workstations and is made available for use by FCA producers to compile programs from raw footage or fine tune studio or portable productions. In the early part of 2014, Apple released a major update which includes a number of improvements and interface changes. This workshop will go into the changes in-depth, and what it will mean for FCA moving forward. Anyone currently editing with Final Cut X is encouraged to attend, but those just starting out with the software will also benefit from the discussion. The camcorder workshop will focus on understanding basic camera operation and shooting principles that are critical, especially for single camera shoots. Participants will learn the basic operation of the JVC GY-HM150U High Definition Camcorder, along with 10 tips for success. Workshop topics include: Camcorder Features, Checkout Process & Media Cards, Camera Setup, Shooting Tips and Protecting Footage Files
