COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT
Patriot Place has scheduled a full lineup of free family activities surrounding the Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50, a 5K and 10K road race at Patriot Place on July 3. The events will build up to a first-of-its-kind fireworks spectacular above Patriot Place that is free and open to the public and will be accompanied by a musical score broadcast by Dean College Radio.
The festivities kick off on Monday, July 2 when Patriot Place will host a sand sculpting demonstration, bounce houses, airbrush tattoos and live music, among other free activities. On July 3, even more free activities, including stilt walkers and appearances by celebrity runners, will build up to the Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50, which is expected to draw more than 5,000 participants. For a full list of free family activities at Patriot Place on July 2 and 3, visit http://www.patriot-place.com/Finishatthe50.aspx.
Following the 5K and 10K, which begin at 6 p.m., Patriot Place will host a fireworks show at 9 p.m. The display will last for more than 20 minutes, the same length as Boston’s annual July 4 fireworks, and will be accompanied by a musical score available by tuning into Dean College Radio, Power 88 FM, at 88.3 FM, or streaming online at www.power883.org. Families can watch the fireworks show from inside Patriot Place’s North Marketplace or from the parking lots around Patriot Place.
The Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50 boasts a 5K course that includes the Gillette Stadium concourses and ramps, as well as views of surrounding towns from the top of the stadium, before finishing at the stadium’s 50-yard line. The 10K course begins at Patriot Place and winds through the streets of Foxborough before returning to Patriot Place and finishing on the Gillette Stadium field. The event also includes a Harvard Pilgrim Health and Fitness Expo at Patriot Place and a Kids Fun Run on the Gillette Stadium field.
