Kraft Family And New England Revolution Welcome Foxborough High School Boys Soccer Team To Revolution Match For Recognition Of Local Heroes

This past Saturday, Oct. 5, the Kraft family and the New England Revolution welcomed the Foxborough High School varsity boys soccer team to Gillette Stadium to honor a group of local heroes who sprang into action at a recent FHS soccer match.

During a varsity soccer game this September, freshman Gavin Smith collapsed after colliding with another player as they both attempted to head the ball. Foxborough High School Head Athletic Trainer and Mass General Brigham’s Christine Dundon and FHS parents Dr. Olivia Kim, Andrea DeSantis, Melissa Mailing and Hailey Mailing rushed onto the field and performed CPR on Smith while waiting for paramedics to arrive on scene. Thanks to their incredible efforts and quick action, Smith was alert and breathing when paramedics arrived.

In recognition of their heroic efforts, Partners in Patriotism and the Revolution featured the group as honorary captains for the Revolution’s Saturday night matchup against the D.C. United, while Smith joined the Revolution and D.C. United team captains on the pitch for the coin toss. These hometown heroes, along with the rest of the boys varsity soccer team, then enjoyed the match from club seats courtesy of the Kraft family.
