Community Press Release
The Neponset River Watershed Association (NepRWA), in collaboration with a remarkable coalition of partners, is excited to announce the return of the Neponset River Fall Cleanup, set for Saturday, September 28th, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at various cleanup sites, including Canton, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Milton, Mattapan, Walpole, and Quincy.
We are seeking volunteers of all ages and skill levels to be part of this meaningful and important event. Children under 15 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
NepRWA is dedicated to improving community green spaces by removing trash and debris and revitalizing the overall health of the Neponset River.
Karen Groce-Horan, the Community Engagement Specialist at NepRWA, emphasizes the pivotal role played by dedicated volunteers in strengthening natural resources and beautifying local recreational spaces.
“The Neponset River Cleanup Day across the Watershed is truly impactful,” says Groce-Horan. “It’s meaningful to unite communities around the River and its tributaries, enhancing the health of the Watershed, our environment, and the beautiful green spaces we cherish.”
Pre-registration is appreciated for planning purposes at www.neponset.org/cleanup. During registration, you’ll have the opportunity to select your preferred cleanup site. We will provide essential equipment on-site, including trash bags, gloves, and tools.
