The Foxborough Council On Aging has been awarded a grant to participate in a pilot program (Aging Mastery) designed to demonstrate how information, follow-up tracking and incentives can empower older adults to make and maintain small but impactful changes in their health behaviors. Thirty-five Foxborough seniors, ranging in age from 56-88, volunteered to participate in the program, which began in March.
The PLAY 60+ bus will pick up the seniors at the Foxborough Council On Aging and travel to the Igo Elementary School, where students will welcome the group upon arrival. During the visit, Mr. Kraft and players will participate in a special school-wide assembly and speak to students and seniors about the importance of staying active through the NFL’s “PLAY 60” campaign. On behalf of the Kraft family, the Patriots Charitable Foundation will present a check for a playground build at the school. Following the assembly, players will lead the 35 seniors and 35 students through an ultimate gym class exercise program.

ABOUT CELEBRATE VOLUNTEERISM
The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation was created by the Kraft family to support charitable and philanthropic agencies throughout New England. This support comes in the form of direct grants, the donation of signed memorabilia to a variety of charitable causes, and from Patriots players who offer their direct support by appearing at charity functions throughout the year. The Foundation’s primary goal is to support programs that aid the youth and families of New England while underscoring the Kraft family’s deep commitment to philanthropic activities in the community. The Foundation actively supports non-profit groups focusing on health, education, youth fitness and community enrichment while also implementing its own programs in those areas of focus. In 2013, the Foundation’s Celebrate Volunteerism initiative aims to recognize deserving volunteers and inspire Patriots fans to become lifelong volunteers.
