Registration open now for event to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
PMC Kids Rides will return to Patriot Place this summer, as the shopping, dining and entertainment destination will host its own iteration of the popular mini bike-a-thon and fundraising event from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. The ride will be coordinated by former New England Patriots special teams captain and three-time Super Bowl champion, Matthew Slater, and his wife, Shahrzad Slater.
The Patriot Place PMC Kids Rides are open to children from two to 12 years old and offer three different cycling routes through Patriot Place for participants of varying ages. Participants can register for either the Tot Lot, half-mile loop, or full-mile loop, biking around the course however many times they would like throughout the event. Registration for this can’t miss community event is open now at kids.pmc.org/patriotplace. The registration fee is $20, with a required fundraising commitment of $40. Virtual rider registration is also available for children that cannot attend in person but are still interested in supporting the PMC Kids Rides program.
One hundred percent of all rider-raised dollars will be given directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to support cancer research and current patient and family care as part of the PMC’s 2024 gift. This year, the PMC, which is poised to cross $1 billion in lifetime fundraising, hopes to raise a record-breaking $75 million for Dana-Farber.
On event day, the festivities will get underway with opening ceremonies slated to begin at 8:15 a.m. before the ride begins at 8:30 a.m. The day will also feature appearances from Pat Patriot and the New England Patriots Cheerleaders, face-painting, photo opportunities and more for plenty of post-ride fun. The Patriot Place PMC Kids Rides will take place within the Enel Plaza, located adjacent to the Patriots Pro Shop and the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by RTX.
