Join the Town of Foxboro and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) for a public forum on the Route 1 corridor’s economic development potential on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Foxboro High School Media Center, located at 120 South St.
The meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the MAPC Route 1 Economic Development study. Hear more about the Town’s vision for Route 1, discuss the market and build-out potential for the corridor, and weigh in on draft recommendations.
The Route 1 Economic Development Study is a follow-up to the Town’s Master Plan, and takes a closer, in-depth look at the development potential along that stretch. As the Town prepares for new development associated with increased capacity created by the new joint Foxboro-Mansfield Sewer District, as well as regional growth from the South Coast Rail project and the potential of daily commuter rail service to Route 1, Foxboro is undertaking this study to better understand development opportunities and constraints in the area.
The Master Planning process revealed that many Foxboro residents view Route 1 as an opportunity to strengthen the local tax base. This project will examine the local market potential and help determine the most appropriate land uses.
