Public ice skating in the shadow of Gillette Stadium opens for the season on Friday, Nov. 10
Patriot Place to again collect donations for Cradles to Crayons to help children in need
The winter tradition of outdoor ice skating returns to Patriot Place for a ninth season with the opening of Winter Skate presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care on Friday, Nov. 10.
To celebrate this year’s grand opening of the popular outdoor ice skating rink, Patriot Place is hosting an opening day bash featuring a DJ (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), a variety of games (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and special appearances by Patriots Cheerleaders, Patriots mascot Pat Patriot and Revolution mascot Slyde (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
The rink, located outside of CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar on NRG Plaza, officially opens for the season at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10. Additionally, guests can receive free admission (skate rentals not included) through the following offers throughout opening weekend:
- DONATION TO CRADLES TO CRAYONS: Lace up your skate for a good cause by donating a new or gently used coat or a pair of hats and gloves to Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts on Nov. 10
- MILITARY APPRECIATION: Veterans and active military with valid military ID will receive free admission Nov. 10-12
- JULIAN EDELMAN DAY: Celebrate 11/11 by wearing your Julian Edelman No. 11 Patriots jerseys and t-shirts on Nov. 11
- TOM BRADY DAY: Celebrate 11/12 by wearing your Tom Brady No. 12 Patriots jerseys and t-shirts on Nov. 12
Additionally, guests 18 and older can enter-to-win two tickets to the Patriots’ Nov. 26 home game vs. the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium throughout Winter Skate’s opening weekend (Nov. 10-12).

The 60-by-140-foot, professionally-maintained ice surface is specifically designed for recreational skating and features an observation deck for non-skaters. The surface is large enough to accommodate beginners and experts alike, hockey and private events.
Winter Skate offers public skating Monday through Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. (closing times during the week may vary; please visit http://www.patriot-place.com/WinterSkate for more information); Friday from 4-10 p.m.; Saturday and all school holidays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Winter Skate will be open until late February. Bathrooms are available and parking is free.
Standard skating price is $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and over. Harvard Pilgrim members receive $2 off admission by showing their membership card, or if you donate a coat or hat/glove set to Cradles to Crayons. On-site skate rentals are $4. Full season passes for families are $125.
Individual season passes are $75 for adults and $60 for children and seniors. Individual admission and season passes do not include skate rentals. Family season passes are $125, but can be purchased at a discount of $111 through Winter Skate’s opening weekend (Nov. 10-12).
